- MEAT shipments from New Zealand, destined for the European Union (EU) markets, can now transit through Singapore via SATS Coolport, Asia's first on-airport perishable handling centre.
- SATS announced that it is the world's first ground handler to receive EU approval to provide the transshipment services.
- SATS successfully handled its first air-sea transshipment of lamb products from New Zealand to Britain in January.
- With this new trade flow, SATS is looking at about 10 per cent increase in lamb shipments over the next two years.
- SATS works with International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) to obtain European Union (EU) approval to handle New Zealand meat outside of EU.
- The approval is not just limited to lamb products, but also extends to other meat types like beef, pork, poultry, wild and farmed game meat originating from New Zealand.
- SATS also announced the appointment of a new Independent Non-Executive Director, on the same day.

- The S$21 million facility will enhance Changi's e-commerce mail-sorting capability by more than three times, supporting the growing e-commerce market, which will also reduce the processing time by half.
- It helps to deliver quicker turnaround for international eCommerce mail.
- SATS is currently the only ground handler in the region to operate such an automated airside facility.
